Just a soapbox & tea kind of day!

As I go deeper and deeper in learning about Jesus Christ, there really is no specific method as to how you communicate with him! They all work!

And as you go deeper in faith and accept the Holy Spirit as your lord and savior, you begin to realize that the Holy Spirit is now within you and you can just simply talk to him and “pray with-in your heart” and that connects you.  Long, thesaurus based, drowned out prayers are not really necessary.  And who are you trying to impress anyway?  God sees right through it.

I have certainly had times where I have been down on my knees weeping with prayer and looking up to the heavens with grief and fear, but those are special occasions and necessary too.  A dying to Christ will be another blog post.

Romans 8:26 ~ In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

I believe he hears me.  As the Bible teaches us, he listens to our hearts!

Isaiah 65:24 Even before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

The Bible also teaches us to have a relationship with Jesus and no matter what, we should go to him first in prayer.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 ~ pray continually

That we should think about him, talk to him, cry to him, lay out our concerns, our fears and worries to him and do it as often as possible because the more in communication we are with Jesus the more our relationship grows. And this growth brings a spiritual maturity, a better understanding of this complicated world and more importantly, hope for today and tomorrow!

The irony is following Jesus can be difficult because when you understand the person that he was and is and what he did for us.  That he is planning a return for more glory in eternity.  Knowing this, you aim to please him & strive to be so much more like him.  That was Gods intent for human kind.  But as he inserted a clause regarding our true loyalty, the offering of free-will produces a barrier.  The world can be very overpowering causing tremendous frustration and challenges.  Why?, because we have this need to be right, validated, lifted up, pampered, accepted, successful, & in control.  And let's not forget, Independent.  Free!

(I chose NLV version for this)

Romans 12:2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

In the name of Jesus, you can still be most of these things.  Just prioritized differently and under a different and more consistent law & jurisdiction!  One that proves to be more prosperous in the end.

In my walk, I have learned in order to overcome the evil ways of the world I have had to flex a disciplined heart “daily” staying focused on Jesus with every breath I take.  Trusting him through the difficult times, praising him through the storms & staying in his word; ultimately relying on his mercy and grace!

Overall, I have found the dividends of Faith are so worth the denial of secular ways.  The strength Christ has given me through tremendous pain, suffering, anxiety; all of it, I will die believing I could’ve never been able to handle life's forces had I not had my friend Jesus by my side!

He's a Good, Good Father!
