The Magnitude of Gratitude!

What does Jesus think of everything going on in this world today? That's a question for the ages.

Conflict, war, dictatorships, evil have been around for thousands of years. Just open up the best history book ever written, the Bible. God started this world with pure peace but the enemy lurked in and soon evil intentions now became an option. With that came poor choices, anger, entitlement, jealousy, selfishness; the list is endless. But God didn't give up there, he still believed in his children and continued to give us good direction throughout history to help us avoid everyday sin and even went as far as sending his only son to die in order to save us from our sins. Jesus continued to teach us how we can effectively live on this earth if we just simply follow a "few good rules". Promises of peace through any affliction, pain or suffering. He literally overtook the world to save us from hurt. Yet we still seem confused!

Psalms 34:14 - Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

God gave us something else, free will. The ability to act on one's own discretion. And I think we can all agree that billions of people do just that. Is this the reason why we have so much pain and suffering in this world? No doubt in my mind. A

The Holy Spirit walks with many of us every day and gives us ample opportunity to make good choices. To call upon Jesus in the face of difficulty and suffering; the best gift we could've ever asked for. A messiah, a king, a leader who talked the talk & walked the walk, who taught us the difference between good and evil. Who we can utilize with every breath we take. And if that wasn't enough, God also gave us a manual, the Bible. Filled with parables of amazing feats against incredible odds. His generosity is insurmountable. God gave special instructions and titles to specific men and women that weren't perfect, but were able to give us examples of how to lead successful lives if they look up instead of down. He gave us 10 "specific rules" (commandments, if you will) with mercy in spite of our imperfections so we can live and learn. God gave us a beautiful book of Proverbs a "what to do and what not to do" in plain text and very easy to understand. He even gave us the promise that there is an end in sight that will redeem our struggles in this world.

BUT! There is a caveat!

We must give our hearts to Jesus. Noooo, don't stop reading! There IS good news! It's free, painless, effortless and the dividends it provides blows away any mega-millions lottery victory! Then and only then will he add us to the "book of life" and welcome us into his beautiful kingdom where we can be together again with our love ones to live an eternal life of pain free happiness.

What more could you ask for?

Well let's be honest, we never have enough. Enough things! Our lives are never happy enough, our relationships are never peaceful enough, our children are never given enough or behaving well enough, our homes are never nice enough, our bank accounts are never filled enough, our hearts are never satisfied enough. We are never fully grateful, enough!

I am a testimony to that way of thinking. But if we pause for a minute as to why we feel dissatisfaction with ourselves and surroundings, manifest that into a thought of countries and religions that feel that each and every day! We all seem to be missing the one key component to true success!?Trusting in God and believing that he is enough. We need to stop making our lives about us. Because this world is not about us. As my grandfather used to say "We are not of this world we are just in it"!

But in our worlds are many blessings we take for granted. Be grateful you woke up today. You had a bed to sleep in. Coffee to drink. Kids to yell at. Heat to stay warm. Food to eat. People to love! Those are gifts from God. Blessings. His guaranteed provisions! The living God providing you a "living!"

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:19

So this brings about the next conundrum of life we don't really realize is a real problem?

Who are you really living for? you? the world? your house? your car? your job? your success? your family? your stuff?

What is your pecking order of priorities? Where does your hope come from?

Kids, You, Career, Husband, Home, Money..................then, when time is available,...........................GOD!

That, my friend, is a recipe for disaster!

"If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied". 1 Corinthians 15:19

Pitied? By who? Christ? Wow, that really hurts my heart thinking of that. But here lies the REAL Hope:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

"According to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"......

Have you tried living for Jesus? As soon as I started to breath the air of Jesus, it became a "game-changer in my life"! I began to feel more peaceful, prosperous, joyful, recognized my life's purpose and THEN abundance grew from there. I began to see God's will for my life. Even amidst the storms, confusing times, hurt, disappointment, my vision became clearer. Or should I say "God's vision" for my life! Here is MY renewed pecking order of priorities:

Ministry (discipleship and worship)

A perspective shift in life is a good thing towards the greater good if in Christ's name you eat, sleep and pray all of your hearts desires. We need to be reminded of this as I need to do daily myself. Reminded to simply LOVE him because he first loved us! and for that I am eternally grateful!
